  • What does "fixed price" mean? 01

    'Fixed price' means that costs are clear and transparent, so that you know what you will be paying.  For procedures available on this scheme, you will know the price before your agreed treatment starts and we will not charge extra should any complications develop. This has been designed to give you complete peace of mind, and the confidence to embark on treatment knowing that the price is fixed.

    Please note that our fixed price treatments are subject to eligibility criteria and we would advise you to discuss any pre-existing conditions with your consultant during your initial consultation.  For terms and conditions please visit our treatments page.

  • Who can benefit from the HCA Healthcare UK fixed price treatment scheme? 02

    Any UK resident can benefit from the fixed price treatment scheme. Whether you are looking for a consultation, or have previously had one and know what treatment or procedure you need, HCA Healthcare UK are ready to help.

  • Do I have to have a referral from my GP before calling? 03

    No, call us and we can talk you through the options for accessing treatment.

  • What should I expect from my initial consultation? 04

    The fixed price team will ask you to take the results of any tests and scans that have been undertaken within the previous 12 month period to your consultation. Any referral documentation from your GP will assist one of our consultants in making a diagnosis.  Your consultant will review your medical history, examine you and discuss your condition with you.  It may be necessary for you to have further minor tests which your consultant will arrange. Following this your consultant will discuss your diagnosis with you and where necessary make arrangements for further treatment.

  • Who are the "self pay" team? 05

    The self pay team is HCA Healthcare UK's dedicated team for all self pay treatment enquiries. They are expert and knowledgeable, and are here to help. You can contact them by calling the number above or request a call back by filling in an online form on our website.

  • What happens after the consultation? 06

    If you require further treatment, the self pay team will contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to have your pre assessment telephone call.  This is a twenty to thirty minute call carried out by our Pre Assessment Nurse to check your clinical eligibility for the scheme.  Once eligibility has been confirmed the self pay team will contact you again to answer any questions you may have, and take payment for your treatment. You will be sent a welcome pack from your HCA Healthcare UK Hospital which is designed to provide you with all the necessary information about your forthcoming admission.  If, for clinical reasons, you are unable to receive fixed price treatment, then you will be contacted to discuss an alternative treatment plan.

  • How much does a treatment cost? 07

    To find out more about the cost of your treatment please call our self pay team who will be able to talk you through the stages of your treatment and the associated costs.  Following your initial consultation the team will be able to provide you with a comprehensive quote for your individual treatment plan.  Should you require one of our fixed price treatments we have included the cost in our treatment descriptions.  For all other treatments please contact our self pay team.

  • Are there any risks with treatments? 08

    Clinical treatments or procedures can't be guaranteed to be completely risk-free. Patients can refer to the EIDO Healthcare description leaflets that are downloadable on the individual treatment pages

  • Does fixed price exclude any specific costs? 09

    The price excludes any additional procedures outside of the fixed price package that a consultant surgeon or physician might recommend at the time of consultation. This will be made clear to you at the time of your consultation. It also excludes the cost of installing any home-based (domestic) aides such as hoists, grab rails etc and any personal costs incurred during the hospital stay such as meals for visitors, newspapers and phone calls.   • Can I get a refund if I cancel my treatment or procedure? 10

    If you decide to cancel your planned treatment or procedure you can receive a full refund of the cost of the treatment or procedure, on condition that you provide a minimum of three working days' notice as described in the detailed terms and conditions.

  • What will happen if I need to reschedule? 11

    If the planned treatment or surgery needs to be rescheduled, HCA Healthcare UK will liaise with you to identify an acceptable alternative date.

  • How quickly can I be seen? 12

    We aim to arrange your appointment at a time that is convenient to you, and most can be made within 24 hours of you calling us.

  • What are my payment options? 13

    There are a number of payment options available, including but not limited to; credit card, debit card, bank transfer, (and subject to status) a loan facility available through Chrysalis Finance - a separate company that is not part of HCA Healthcare UK. Should you apply for a loan with Chrysalis Finance, you will need to undergo a credit reference check and will be entering into a separate regulated credit agreement with Chrysalis Finance. If you would like to discuss these options further or make a payment please contact our self pay team on the number above, who will be happy to help.

  • Can I pay for medical treatment myself and claim it back from an insurance company or sponsor? 14

    No - the HCA Healthcare UK Self Pay Packages are not suitable for patients who have private medical insurance or other forms of sponsorship.  This is because most insurers and sponsors require an itemised account which cannot be provided for self pay package procedures.
